Lent Begins February 22

We begin our Lenten journey for 2012 on Ash Wednesday, February 22, with worship and Holy Communion and the imposition of Ashes at 7:00 p.m. This year, following Ash Wednesday, the services with be dialogues written by the Rev. Richard O. Hoyer and performed by Pastor and Jeanne Hoyer. Our mid-week Lenten services will imagine various people who are seeking the good life confronting the cross. Pastor Hoyer will enact the various men seeking the good life. Jeanne Hoyer will portray Veronica, one of the women believed to have wiped the blood and tears from Jesus’ face and found the Lord’s image on the cloth.

Ash Wednesday Service (2/22) will be held at 7 pm with the Imposition of Ashes.

Beginning the week after Ash Wednesday and for the remaining mid-week services, join us for our “Soup and Salad” dinner at 6:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Sign-up sheets are in the narthex.

February 29: The Healthy Man (Bartimaeus)

March 7: The Family Man (Jairus)

March 14: The Political Man (Simon, the Zealot)

March 21: The Religious Man (the believing Centurion)

March 28: The Rich Man

Again, this year, as is our tradition here at Christ Lutheran Church, we will gather using the “Holden Evening Prayer” service for these meditative services.

5^th Sunday Services 2012

To bridge the separation of members between the two services, a common 10:00 a.m. service will be held of the fifth Sunday of the month. During 2012, there will be five 5^th Sundays. The first will be on January 29. Make a note on your calendars that any month with five Sundays.
