The Reverend David G. Osborne

Reverend David G. Osborne was installed as pastor at Christ Lutheran Church on February 6, 2005. Before accepting his new post, Pastor Osborne was Assistant to the Bishop of the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America with an assignment as Pastor for Transforming Congregations. He is a native Texan and a graduate of Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas, and Christ Seminary. He has served congregations in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. His wife, Karen, serves as the Music Director for the church. The Osbornes have two grown children and one granddaughter.

Silke Pyrlik, Director of Christian Life

Silke grew up and attended college in Germany where she was a member of the Lutheran Church all her life. In 2005 she moved to Hilton Head Island with her husband and two children. Silke's family joined Christ Lutheran in 2007. She served two terms as council president in 2008 and 2009. In the fall of 2009, she followed God's calling and began a second career in church ministry as Director of Christian Life here at Christ Lutheran Church. Silke now works with all members of the congregation, planning fellowship events, small group ministries, and youth and adult Sunday school. She also welcomes visitors, leads a grief support group and assumes many other administrative responsibilities as well.

Nancy Conder, Preschool Director

Nancy is the Director of Christ Lutheran Preschool and has worked as both teacher and director for 29 years. She was graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BA degree in Elementary Education and has extensive graduate study and training in Early Childhood Education and Administration. Nancy and her husband, Frank, have two grown daughters and two granddaughters.

Karen Osborne, Music Director
Like her husband , Pastor Osborne, Karen is also a native Texan and has served as Music Director at Christ Lutheran since 2005. She is in her twenty-first year of teaching music, her sixth year in Beaufort County, South Carolina, and she is currently the music teacher at Hilton Head International Baccalaureate Elementary School. Karen has two grown children and one granddaughter.

Jim Fritz, Organist / Keyboardist
Jim has served as the organist, pianist, and keyboardist at Christ Lutheran since 1997. He has been teaching music for over 40 years. His experience includes a Fellowship in a pilot music project in inner-city Boston; teaching public school music in Indiana and upstate New York and at private schools in Pennsylvania. He holds a number of degrees in Music, German, and Music Education and currently teaches at Hilton Head Preparatory School on the island.

Mike Conklin, Sexton
Mike currently serves as the Sexton of Christ Lutheran Church where he oversees the maintenance and operation of our church's facilities, including the prayer garden and columbarium. He also oversees matters of aesthetic appearance and security, as well as the necessary logistics for events on the church calendar. Mike is a dedicated member of the church and is married to his wife, Patti, who is also a member of Christ Lutheran.
